Interests: My family and friends, my girlfriend Shannon, PSU, my values and beliefs, traveling, tennis, Superman, playing guitar, movies, Happy Hour’s, Thai food, photography, current events, a drive to change the world, living life fully, and leadership in the purest form. Studies/Major: Business Marketing About Myself: I was born in Manila, Philippines and moved to the States when I was 10 years old. Since then, i’ve lived in Hillsboro, OR with my parents, two older brothers, and younger sister. Living in a bicultural home with my American stepfather and Filipino mother, I take pride in being a product of both cultures. I attended Century High School where I was actively involved at every level in school including academics, student government, community service, and varsity tennis. In 2005, I graduated with honors and was named Century High School’s 2005 Boy of the Year. Currently under the Diversity Recognition Scholarship, I am pursuing my Bachelors of Arts Degree in Business Marketing at Portland State University. Since my freshman year, I have been an ardent supporter of student groups and activities on campus—outlets I am very passionate about and constantly gain vital skills and experiences from. I have served as an elected student senator of ASPSU student government, have served as Publicity Coordinator, Treasurer, and President of Kaibigan, collaborate with multicultural student leaders and groups, and serve in the Multicultural Advisory Board. In 2008, I was recognized by the PSU President with a University Service award. In addition to academics and activities, I currently work on campus as the Events Coordinator for Student Activities Leadership Programs, a position that allows me organize events that contribute to the cultural vibrancy of the university. Two of my fundamental beliefs as a leader are: any one person has the power to make a positive difference, no matter how big or small, in the world and that individuals given the right amount of support and education have endless potential. |
