Webcomic Time

Friends,

Being sick and stuck in the house today I didn’t have anything to do but sleep, eat, drink medicine, try to get a little of bit of homework done.  However it does have it perks, I watched my LOTR movies and caught up on my webcomics :-) . Here is a strip from my favourite webcomic QuestionableContent.  This strip was very funny and cute, we have all been this situation before, the awkward smile  and I wanted to share with my fellow kaibigangansters.  Enjoy.

Film & Discussion Workshop Series

Hello Kaibigans,

Please join us on our upcoming collaboration event with PCHRP this Thursday:
Film & Discussion Series (see attached flyer)

Film: Sa Ngalan ng Tubo / In the Name of Sugar

A documentary on the struggle of millworkers, farmworkers, and people of Hacienda Luisita.
When: Thursday, April 30, 2009  5:00-6:00pm
Where: SMSU 294
Synopsis:  November 16, 2005, seven people died at the picketlines of Hacienda Luisita, Philippines. Millworkers and farmworkers of the sugar refinery and plantation owned by one of the wealthiest and oldest landed families in the country went on strike. Their demands were met with a volley of bullets from police and military forces.

The massacre demonstrates once again that the path to a better future means a life-and-death struggle for the toiling masses, as those who lord over society will never willingly surrender their wealth and power.

Sa Ngalan ng Tubo is a 38-minute documentary produced in 2006 and has since been distributed and exhibited mostly in grassroots venues and schools in the country and in Filipino communities and organizations abroad.

FREE Food and Refreshments!!!

Hope to see you all there and please help us spread the word.
